Programming and Outreach Internship
(Seasonal Mid April - October)
Position Overview
3-5 hours / week plus event days, flexible schedule- must be available during events (2-3 Saturdays a month)
The Raymond Farm Center for Living Arts and Design is a small non-profit organization dedicated to the continuation of the legacy of internationally acclaimed architects Antonin and Noemi Raymond at their 1930’s summer farmhouse studio located in New Hope, PA. Known for their modern Japanese and regionalist architecture, the Raymond’s summer farmhouse boasts a unique design with a Quaker farmhouse exterior and a modern Japanese interior. The Raymond farm became a space to live close to nature and work inspired by nature. The RFC organization aims to continue fostering the creative spirit by showcasing artists, educators, and crafters through a variety of programming throughout the year.
This internship is for anyone who wishes to gain program and community outreach experience in a small non-profit that is committed to arts and design. The programming and outreach intern will work directly with the executive director and programs director. The intern will assist in advertising and executing programs on our calendar for 2019. Programs include academic lectures, craft based workshops, and larger fundraising events. The intern will play a key role in making sure visitors enjoy their experience and run events in a seamless manner.
This position allows flexibility to work remotely communicating via emails, phone conferences and video conferences. Events requires moderate activity with some lifting and ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs.
Responsibilities include assisting in:
Putting together advertisements and promoting events
Taking photos for social media
Posting on social media and website
Monthly newsletters
Basic house cleaning
Setting up and breaking down events
Engaging with visitors
Visitor registration
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Proficient with social media
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Must be able to work with a team and independently
Ability to talk to people comfortably
Driver’s license and access to vehicle
Ability to lift 25 lbs
Weekend availability
Preferred:
Proficient with social media
Experience with Squarespace, Eventbrite, Mailchimp, Google Suite, Social Media Platforms
Knowledge in Photoshop and Indesign
Interest in learning the history of the farmhouse and the Raymonds
Interest in architecture and design
Willingness to drive around and promote events in local neighborhoods
Enjoy being outdoors
Experience with tours
Compensation: Monthly stipend of $200 plus $50 per diem for events. Access to lectures and discounts to workshops
